Mendoza- Tierra del Sol y del Buen Vino

Today's post is about one of my favourite places in the world, where I lived 3 years ( and where I want to get married, not even close of having a boyfriend, but that is just a minor detail haha). It's Mendoza, Argentina's wine capital, a place that has an enchantment like few others, a place I once called home and where many of my best friends live.
So here go some pictures of Mendoza "La tierra del sol y del buen vino" ( Mendoza, Land of sunshine and good wine)

Having fun with the longboard!!

Hope you enjoyed these pictures :) Lots of outside activities as you see! Always good for the mind and body! haha
And what is your idea of amazing holidays? Or your secret little paradise on earth?
Besos!

London Olympics 2012

Im really sorry I have abandoned this blog for the past 3 months... However I hereby promise to begin again, full on, posting at least once a week. On the plus side, I have accumulated tons of great pictures of my holidays! So I will have loads to post on- and once that is done, I can start posting on my life here in Bath...

This summer...I got to volunteer as a London 2012 Gamesmaker!!!!!!!!! I cannot describe how amazing the experience was. I love every second, these were some of the highlights: 1) walking through the olympic park in the morning when it was all empty except all the purple-uniformed-gamesmakers 2) Talking to people from all over the world. 3) Listening to the Brazilian, Argentinean and UK national anthems 4) Getting a free ticket from a friend's of my mom to watch the closing ceremony!!!!       When I was a kid I used to dream of going to the Olympics and representing my country, I guess dreams do come true, not exactly playing a sport as I had dreamed of, but I was there. I was a part of London 2012 Olympics.

Picture with Ryan Lochte, I left my position in the stadium to see why there was so much fuss in another sector, and it was him! I also so a few other celebrities such Amaechi, Evander Holyfield, Ludacris

The Basketball arena- hosted firstly all basketball eliminatories and the handball finals
                                                               Me in my uniform!
Pins! Everyone was very much into the collection of pins, I didnt get very involved with it, and saved a few for my friend's little brother!

I don't have many more pics of my volunteering experience because I have a pretty big camera which I couldn't carry around, but I did take lots of the closing ceremony

 Spotted the Uruguayan flag, yey!!!

John Lennon tribute, one of my favourite parts

 Spice Girls!

 Me with my Brazilian flag!!
Thats Alessandra Ambrosio, but I obviously didnt recognize and didnt wait for her to put her head up!! I was just taking a picture because they participated on the Brazilian performance! haha
 London Mayor- Boris

This way to Rio de Janeiro 2016! See you there!

It seriously was one of the most incredible 3 weeks of my life! The energy was spectacular, the sports performances were unbelievable... the determination, courage, hard work that all the athletes and organizers put into it, is beyond admirable...Olympics are really the greatest show on earth- and I recommend everyone who ever has the chance of participating in any way, DO IT! You won't regret it!

Carolina

Hello from Belgium!! I'm spending a few days here in Brussles, to visit my grandparents and aunt before heading to the Olympics!! I said my goodbyes to my family in Mexico on Sunday evening, Ill see them in 1 months time but still, leaving home is always tough!

That said, today's post is a jolly one because its about FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD!!

So, here are a few pictures of "Carolina", The St. Regis Punta Mita french restaurant. One of my favourites of Punta Mira, for certain the finest of them all. I forgot to take pictures of the pretty entrees, but here are some of the main plates and desserts, the pictures really don't  do justice to the delicacy and fine taste of the dishes.

Lamb Roasted with thyme, Chick-peas “panisse”, zucchini and basil pure, jus with a touch of garlic

Filet of beef “Angus” Mexican pepper sauce, ,” boulangere” styled potatoes

The Sea Bass with basil gnocchis and yellow bell pepper sauce

Mango sorbet in a shell

Pineapple dessert with blue curacao
Cappuccinos

delicious maccarons to go with the coffee

I didn't take a pic of the restaurant/table this time around so I included this one,so you can see a bit of the place. This picture was taken in January, with an English  friend ( fair skinned- truly British haha), who came over for a few days.

That was my last post on Mexico for a while...now starts my adventure as a London Olympics 2012 Gamesmaker!!!!!!

Friendship Day

Today in South America its friendship day----Dia del Amigo!!
Just like mother's, father's, dog's etc. days are, it is really purely commercial. However, in South America we love any excuse to show affection to each other, celebrate and spend time with our friends...so Friendship day...is a big day! I'm in Mexico visiting my parents, kind of far away from my friends...but here is a small celebratory post!

On another note, still on the friendship matter, this week I met up with 2 people I hadn't seen for 10 years. That is, I was 10 years old when I last saw them, pretty amazing and weird huh?! It was exciting, strange, fun and a tad awkward admittedly, but after the ice was broken, it felt so natural, as if we had grown up together. We reminisced over micheladas, got lost in the city, played tennis, cooked. It got me thinking... people grow up, people change, however they tend to remain true to their essence. Even after 10 years, you can still recognize that little boy/girl and why you called them your friend...and although sometimes you don't share that much in common anymore ( happened with another friend I re-encountered last year), sometimes you do- and those are friendships that will last forever ( a bit corny I know...but true).

Have a good weekend!
